Please be sure to read through my policies before making a booking request. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Deposits

Booking requests 30-days out and beyond: require a 50% deposit to secure with balance due 15-days before clients departure date. Holiday booking requests: require full payment at the time of accepting booking requests. For a list of holiday dates please click here.

Requested dates less than 30 days: Requires full payment to secure. The easiest way to secure a booking request is text Susan at 831-588-2329 with your departure and arrival dates and times. If dates are available, you will receive a confirmation text and a payable invoice via email.

Home Requirements

Since I can work from anywhere, all I require is a high-speed wifi connection and a tabletop or desk area. I will be very respectful of your home and will always clean up after myself.

Meet and Greet

Please be sure to have 2 house keys available should you become a new client. This also helps you avoid the charge of a second meeting to pick up keys.

First-Time Clients

First booking reservation requires full payment. Future reservations, a 50% deposit is required with your balance due 15 days before your departure day. Holiday bookings require full payment at the time of booking dates accepted. For a list of holiday-zone dates, please click here.

Email Notifications

New clients will receive an email once they book their “Meet & Greet.” This email will have additional information regarding services, special offers, etc.

Booking Day

Begins on the 1st day the Pet Sitter arrives. The start time can begin between 7am and 7pm and client is billed every day that the pet-sitter is in the clients home.

Pet Accidents

Pet owners know even the most well-behaved and housebroken pets can have accidents. When this happens, the cause is often due to the pet(s) being upset or nervous and is not the fault of the sitter. Almost always, these accidents can be easily cleaned with no trace. Please be sure to leave your approved carpet cleaner or other supplies that you know will not damage the affected surface areas in your home.

Security Cameras

Homeowners have the right to use security cameras to keep their home safe; however, Susan’s House and Pet Sitting require full disclosure for the privacy of the sitter. There shall be no cameras in the bathrooms or bedrooms used by the pet-sitter. Susan’s House and Pet Sitting expressly denies the use of any type of recorded footage being used by the client in any way, which includes but not limited to social media.

Additional/New Pets

When you add a new family pet, a second meet & greet must be scheduled. This gives us time to discuss any questions either of us has and allows me time to meet your pets. This visit is approximately 45 minutes, so we have time to cover all the important details.

Notice of Visitors in Your Home

During your booking dates, no other people should have access to your home because of liability. In the event that someone enters your home or property during the booking dates, all the responsibility on the part of Susan’s House Sitting Services becomes null and void. If I do encounter an unexplained ‘visitor’ without prior knowledge, don’t be surprised if I call the police. Such unexplained situations are a personal safety issue for the pet sitter AND your home.

Cancellation

To ensure your home and pet(s) receive quality care, I do not overbook. Therefore, once a service is booked, I turn away business in order to accommodate your schedule. If your plans and dates change slightly, I do try to accommodate and I do have other pet-sitters available. If you need to adjust your travel dates and times, please be sure to notify me as soon as possible so I can make accommodations. If a client must cancel, I do ask to be notified as soon as possible by text at (831)-588-2329. Some discretion may be made for unexpected emergencies, so please let me know the reason for your cancellation.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Please note that once you’ve scheduled your reservation, business has been turned away. As a result, I do not offer cash refunds. There is an initial 50% cancellation fee for all cancellations. When a client must cancel, inform me immediately. The client will receive an updated invoice with all pertinent information such as the cancellation fee and the amount of credit held in client’s name, to be applied to the next booking. Canceling less than 72 hours before your departure time requires a 50% charge and no credit posted towards a future booking.

Arrival Back Home

Although your departure and arrival dates are on the invoice, schedules can change due to flight times, etc. Therefore, if you wish to extend services for a day or more, please notify me immediately by text 831.588.2329 in order to ensure pet(s) are not left unattended for any extended length of time. Please notify me within two hours before your arrival since your home and pet(s) are my responsibility. If I do not hear from you, I will continue to care for your home and pets and a daily rate will be charged.

Referrals

We love our clients and want to thank you for trusting us with your precious pets.

There is no greater compliment than when clients refer us to their family, friends, co-workers and neighbors. To show our appreciation, we have a referral program, so when you refer someone to Susan’s House and Pet Sitting and they become a new client, you’ll receive 10% off your next new booking. Just be sure they mention your name at the time of their meet and greet. Better yet, text me the name of the person you referred! * New client must complete their booking before current client receives their 10% discount.

Privacy

We collect personal information in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when users visit our site, book services, etc. However, information is never shared.

Pet Sitter Support and Emergency Backup

Emergencies can happen, even for the house sitter. Therefore, I do have qualified substitutes to care for your home and pets in the event of a personal emergency, illness, or unexpected accident. I consider these professionals pet sitters an important part of my services to ensure that your home and pets receive optimal care at all times.

Policies and Guidelines

I take your privacy seriously and will take all measures to protect your personal information. Any personal information received will only be used by Susan’s House Sitting Services. Services, prices and policies may be updated at any time. Therefore, you are encouraged to stay informed by revisiting this page as it is your responsibility to review all policies periodically and become aware of modifications and that your patronage is the approval of this statement. * Any major changes to pet sitting documents happen once a year and you will be given new documents to review and sign.

Additional Pets/Shared Bookings:

I cannot accept a booking when a client requests that the pet-sitter ‘share’ the booking dates with a client’s family, a friend, or neighbor. Susan’s House and Pet Sitting and other professional pet-sitters are not covered by their insurance in such situations. The only sharing acceptable is between professional pets sitters only! If others have access to your home to care for your pets, we reserve the right to discontinue services and leave immediately.
